Graduates eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers. Investment for the 200-hour training (a life-enhancing event) $1,850.
200-hour teacher training occurs one weekend per month for ten months, with additional outside assignments.
A rich experience designed for those who desire to deepen their own personal yoga practice but not necessarily teach yoga, as well as for those who desire to receive a foundation to guide yoga classes safely, confidently, and effectively -- and for anyone who desires a disciplined approach to expand personal horizons.
Curriculum highlights:Details, variations, and modifications of more than 25 asanas to guide a class safely and confidently
Sun Salutation, Moon Salutation, Sunbird Flow
Yin Yoga as an asana practice
Learning, practicing and teaching Pranayam techniques
Philosophy, including study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras
Introduction to meditation
Anatomy as relates to yoga
Practicum including observing others teach, offering guidance, teaching methodologies, demonstrating the ability to utilize the program content in a classroom format
Introduction to the chakras, gunas, kleshas, eight limbs of yoga
Introduction to Ayurveda
Yogic lifestyle, ethics of yoga teachers, business aspects of teaching yoga
Carol Herndon, Director, E-RYT 200, RYT500
Christopher Baxter, E-RYT500, RA, Adjunct Instructor, is a registered professional architect and a master yoga educator with more than 30 years experience. He is the author of "Kripalu Hatha Yoga," a founding member of Kripalu Center, founding director of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association, and Director of Yoga Development. Instrumental in the development of Kripalu Yoga, Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, and the Yoga Alliance, the national accrediting affiliation for Yoga Teachers and Training Schools, he is now Director of Training for the 500-hour Teacher Certification Program at Discovery Yoga Center. He is also the creator and main presenter of InnerSky Yoga and joins the YTT staff of Horizon Blue Yoga.

Arla Larson, RYT-500, Adjunct Instructor, has been a student and practitioner of yoga for
over 20 years. She began her formal yoga training and study at Discovery Yoga in the Kripalu tradition, and has completed
her 500-hour certification. She is also a certified Yin Yoga and Tai Chi
instructor. Learning and studying with a variety of authentic yoga
teachers and masters, Arla is passionate about sharing a blend of these
various forms of movement into a fluid, meditative mind/body experience.
